If you live in Dallas, you already know spring cleaning here is a little different. Up north they’re cleaning because the snow melted. In Dallas, we’re cleaning because pollen, dust, wind, dogs, kids, and that one mysterious sticky spot on the kitchen floor have been building up since Christmas.

Spring is the perfect time to reset the house before:

Texas heat

Summer bugs

Kids home all day

Windows never opening again until October

So here it is: the Ultimate Spring Cleaning Checklist for Dallas.

Step 1 – Declutter First (Very Important)

Before you clean anything, declutter. Cleaning around clutter is like mowing the lawn without picking up the toys first; technically possible, but not smart.

Declutter Checklist:

Closets

Pantry

Under sinks

Junk drawer (everyone has one)

Kids rooms

Garage (good luck)

Laundry room

Old cleaning supplies

Expired food

Random cables from electronics you no longer own

Dallas Rule: If you haven’t used it since the last State Fair, donate it.

Step 2 – The Spring Cleaning Master Checklist

This is the deep cleaning list, not the weekly cleaning stuff.

Kitchen Deep Cleaning

Clean and polish sink

Clean garbage disposal

Pull out fridge and clean behind

Pull out stove and clean behind

Clean pantry shelves

Wash trash cans

Wipe small appliances

Mop floor edges and corners

Pro Tip: Put a bowl of vinegar in the microwave and run for 3 minutes. Everything wipes off easily afterward.

Bathroom Deep Cleaning

Scrub tile and grout

Dallas Hard Water Tip:

Dallas Dust Tip: Use a dryer sheet on baseboards after cleaning. Dust won’t stick as fast.

Windows and Doors

Clean interior windows

Clean window tracks

Clean window sills

Wipe blinds

Wipe door frames

Clean sliding door tracks

Clean front door

Clean back door

Clean door handles

Window Track Hack: Use a paint brush + vacuum to clean window tracks quickly.

Laundry Room

Clean washer gasket

Run washer cleaning cycle

Vacuum behind dryer

Wipe shelves

Mop floor

Throw away old detergent bottles

Clean utility sink

Garage (The Dallas Spring Cleaning Finale)

This is where dreams go to die.

Sweep garage

Throw away broken stuff

Organize tools

Organize holiday decorations

Donate old items

Clean shelves

Get rid of mystery boxes

Spray for bugs

Check storage bins

Sweep driveway

Power wash driveway if you’re feeling ambitious

Spring Cleaning Hacks (These Actually Work)

Here are some professional cleaner tips:

Cleaning Hacks:

Vinegar + Dawn = shower cleaner

Baking soda = sink scrub

Dryer sheets = baseboards

Magic eraserr = walls and scuffs

Toothbrush = grout and corners

Pillowcase = clean ceiling fan blades

Vacuum first, dust second (always)

Clean top to bottom

Microfiber cloths are better than paper towels

Squeegee shower after use to prevent buildup

Put a dishwasher tablet in the toilet tank (helps keep bowl super clean)

Lemon in garbage disposal for smell

Use a lint roller on lampshades

Use newspaper to clean windows (no streaks)

The Dallas Spring Cleaning Strategy (Very Important)

Do not try to clean the entire house in one day unless you enjoy suffering.

Best Plan:

Day

Task

Day 1

Declutter

Day 2

Kitchen

Day 3

Bathrooms

Day 4

Bedrooms

Day 5

Living areas

Day 6

Windows

Day 7

Garage

Spring cleaning is a week project, not a day project.

Final Dallas Spring Cleaning Advice

After many years in the cleaning business, I can tell you this:

The things that make the biggest difference in a house are:

Clean baseboards

Clean ceiling fans

Clean shower glass

Clean behind appliances

Clean window tracks

Clean under beds

Declutter

Clean light switches and door frames

If you do just those, your house will feel twice as clean.

The Real Truth About Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning is basically: Throw away stuff you don’t need, clean stuff you ignored all year, and find things you thought were lost forever.

You will find:

Missing socks

Old toys

Pens that don’t work

Charger cords to unknown devices

At least $3 in coins

One mystery key

Something sticky

Something broken

Something you forgot you owned

And at least one thing you swear someone else put there

That’s just part of the process.

Final Thought

If your house still feels messy after spring cleaning, don’t worry, that just means people live there, and that’s a good thing.

But a good deep clean once a year makes the house feel new again, and spring is the perfect time to do it before the Dallas summer heat hits and nobody wants to do anything except stand near the AC vent.

January in Dallas is a weird month. The holidays are over, the decorations are finally back in the attic, the house is quiet again… and suddenly you notice things. Like the mysterious sticky spot on the kitchen floor that survived Christmas, New Year’s, and at least three family gatherings. Or the dust that somehow reappears five minutes after you swear you just cleaned.

That’s exactly why January is the perfect time to start a recurring cleaning service.

During the holidays, everyone is in survival mode. You’re hosting people, feeding people, stepping over shoes, toys, dogs, and that one guest who insists on wearing boots inside. Cleaning becomes reactive. You wipe, you panic-clean, you light a candle and hope for the best.

January is different. January is when life slows down just enough for your brain to say, “Okay… I want my house to stay like this.” That feeling doesn’t happen in April. It happens now.

Dallas homes actually get dirtier in the winter than most people realize. Windows stay shut, heaters run nonstop and dust gets blown around like it’s auditioning for a role in a Western. Add in pets spending more time inside and suddenly everything feels… stale. Not dirty-dirty, just “why does my house feel off?” dirty.

This is where recurring cleaning quietly changes your life.

Starting in January means you’re not waiting for your home to become a disaster before doing something about it. You’re setting a rhythm. The same way people start gym memberships in January with wildly optimistic intentions, starting a cleaning routine now builds a habit that sticks. Except this habit actually lasts past February.

There’s also something psychologically satisfying about knowing your home is handled. You don’t wake up on a random Thursday realizing guests are coming and your bathroom looks like it’s been through emotional trauma. You already know when the cleaners are coming. You already know it’ll be fine. That peace of mind is highly underated.

Another thing people don’t talk about is spring. Dallas spring is beautiful, but it’s also when pollen attacks with no warning and your allergies suddenly decide to ruin your life. Starting recurring cleaning in January means you’re not entering spring with months of dust, buildup, and grime waiting to be unleashed the moment you open a window.

And frankly, January is when budgets are clearer. The holiday spending is done, the credit cards are cooling off, and people are deciding what’s actually worth paying for every month. A clean home that stays clean tends to make that list surprisingly fast.

The biggest difference between one-time cleanings and recurring service is stress. With recurring cleaning, you stop thinking about cleaning altogether. You stop negotiating with yourself about whether today is “bad enough” to scrub the shower. You stop losing weekends to chores you already hate.

You just live in your house.

So if you’re looking around your home in January thinking, “I don’t want this to fall apart again,” that’s your sign. Not in March. Not when spring cleaning panic sets in. Now.

Your future self will thank you. Probably while drinking coffee on a clean couch, wondering why you didn’t do this sooner. So, if you’re in Dallas and want to start the year with one less thing on your mental to-do list, Dallas Maids is here. We’ll handle the cleaning. You handle literally anything more fun than scrubbing baseboards.

And yes, we promise to get that sticky spot you’ve been pretending not to see.

Hello, Texas Friends!

Dallas Maids here with an exciting new blog for the Christmas season. We’re eager to help you transform your home into a cozy haven for relaxation this end of the year with a list of the best cleaning tips for kids, the little ones who are the heart of the family.

We know better than anyone else how hard children might be when it comes to keeping a house clean, but it is never impossible to change that!

At Dallas Maids, we recall many cases where seeing our maids clean with such an enthusiastic and lovely attitude has had a great impact on them. By teaching and suggesting to our customers who are parents, we’ve slowly developed a step-by-step guide on how to encourage children to clean.

Consider it our holiday gift to you this Christmas 2025!

Make it fun

We know that cleaning a dusty closet doesn’t sound as appealing as drinking hot cocoa while watching a movie. Still, with the right ambiance and mindset, cleaning might become a fun holiday activity for the family!

Play a nice, merry Christmas playlist (or the music they like) and promise different prizes; make it a little challenge for them (especially if you have multiple children; competitiveness is always a great motivation).

Be creative

Give them cleaning supplies selected specially for them, in their favorite color, and a sticker with their name on it. This will give it a personal touch.

Tell them stories and create imaginary heroes that are related to their cleaning tools (and are similar to them, so they can empathize and feel admiration, which is a powerful feeling for developing habits).

Make it satisfying

The dopamine of rewards and positive affirmations is something no one can resist, especially kids! Offer them a prize for participation (for example, drinking chocolate milk and watching a movie—something fun you were already planning to do, but they do not need to know, right?) and a prize for “best” something.

For example, the “best floor cleaner” will get a pair of cookies, and the “best organizer” will get a marshmallow cup. This is just a starting point; you can exchange sweet treats for stickers on a family board that focuses on cleanliness and positive affirmations about how well they are doing. But if you could save the sweet treats of the week for the cleaning day, it will be an effective backup you’ll never forget!

Keep it simple

Making things fast and heavy will cause a step back in the progress. Even we, as adults, understand how hard it sounds to clean that pantry that we have been avoiding since 2021, or to scrub those dirty bathroom tiles we judge every day. Give them tasks progressively; start with 1-3 tasks a day, and assign them one at a time (so they feel like it is less overwhelming), and explain the tasks slowly and clearly.

Actually, the first 3-5 times you’ll do this activity will consist of explaining how to do things until they do it right. They will make mistakes and need your help constantly, so even when it gets hard, do not give up! Simply and slowly, introduce them to the world of cleaning! We believe in you.

Fall is finally here in Dallas! Okay… maybe not in the weather just yet (it’s Texas, we’ll probably still be sweating through our Cowboys jerseys well into October). But the calendar says September, the pumpkin spice lattes are flowing, and that means it’s time to think about fall cleaning.

Spring gets all the cleaning hype, but fall cleaning is just as important, especially in Dallas where ragweed allergies, tailgate parties, and the looming holiday season can leave your home looking like a fumble recovery pile.

Here’s your Ultimate Fall Cleaning Checklist to help you tackle the season like a pro (or just call Dallas Maids and let us do the tackling for you).

1. Dust Like a Linebacker

Dallas is one of the worst cities for allergies in the fall, thanks to ragweed, mold spores, and our good friend dust.

Wipe down ceiling fans (the sneaky dust factories above your head).

Clean blinds, baseboards, and bookshelves.

Don’t forget vents. Your HVAC is working overtime with all these weather mood swings.

Pro tip: If you see a dust bunny the size of a football, don’t try to punt it. Just vacuum.

2. Deep Clean the Living Room (Game Day HQ)

With football season in full swing, your living room is about to host more people than AT&T Stadium’s parking lot.

Shampoo carpets or spot-clean stains (yes, even that salsa stain from last year’s Super Bowl).

Wipe down remotes and game controllers (science says they’re dirtier than your toilet seat).

Wash throw blankets and pillow covers because nacho cheese doesn’t count as décor.

3. Prep the Kitchen for Holiday Feasts

Before the Thanksgiving turkey (and the three Cowboys games that day), your kitchen needs a little TLC.

Degrease oven and stovetop.

Clean out the fridge (goodbye, expired ranch dressing).

Sanitize counters, cutting boards, and sink.

Wipe cabinet doors because grease loves to hang out there.

Think of it as pre-season training for your kitchen.

4. Refresh the Bedrooms

Cooler weather = more time under the covers. Make it count.

Wash comforters, duvets, and pillows.

Rotate or flip mattresses (bonus points if you remember which side you actually like).

Dust nightstands and lamps.

Clear out summer clutter hiding in closets.

5. Don’t Forget the Bathrooms

Guests will judge. They always judge.

Scrub tile grout.

Wash shower curtains or liners.

Shine mirrors (so your in-laws can admire themselves while they “inspect” your bathroom).

Restock guest towels and extra TP because running out is the true horror of the season.

6. Tackle the Outdoors

Dallas weather is unpredictable, but your porch doesn’t have to be.

Sweep porches, patios, and entryways.

Wash outdoor furniture cushions.

Clean windows (inside and out if you’re brave).

Rake leaves before they turn into a soggy, slippery mess.

And yes, pumpkin décor is totally allowed.

Bonus: Game-Day Cleaning Sprint

If you’re short on time before kickoff:

Hide clutter in closets.

Run the dishwasher.

Wipe the counters.

Light a candle and act like your house always smells like “Autumn Harvest Bliss.”

Final Whistle: Don’t Want to Do It All?

Let’s be real: fall in Dallas means allergies, endless football, and prepping for the holidays. If you’d rather spend your weekends cheering on the Cowboys than scrubbing grout, give Dallas Maids a call.

We’ll handle the dust, the deep cleaning, and even the “my in-laws are coming in 2 hours, HELP” situations. You handle the nachos, the touchdowns, and maybe (just maybe) another Cowboys playoff run.

Book your fall cleaning today at DallasMaids.com because a clean home is always in season.

It’s August in Dallas, which means two things:

It’s still hotter than a jalapeño in July.

Back-to-school chaos is about to kick off.

Between supply shopping, earlier wake-up calls, and remembering how to pack lunches again, the last thing you want is a messy home slowing you down. So here’s a no-fluff, room-by-room checklist to help you actually get your house ready for the school year.

1. Entryway: Stop the Backpack Explosion Before It Starts

This is where chaos usually begins. Start fresh:

Declutter shoes, umbrellas, and last year’s junk mail.

Add hooks or cubbies for backpacks and jackets.

Put a small bin for each kid’s shoes to keep the morning scramble under control.

Pro Tip: In Dallas, it’s still storm season. Keep an umbrella basket by the door to avoid wet footprints turning your floors into a Slip ‘N Slide.

2. Kitchen: Your Morning Command Center

Purge expired snacks and last semester’s science project from the fridge.

Clean out the pantry… yes, even the top shelf you pretend doesn’t exist.

Wipe down cabinets and disinfect handles (sticky hands are back in full swing).

Set up a “grab and go” breakfast/snack station. When time is tight, it’ll save you from becoming that parent peeling bananas in traffic.

Related: Step-by-step to clean your kitchen.

3. Kids’ Bedrooms: Ground Zero

Go through clothes and donate what doesn’t fit.

Organize school supplies (yes, they’ve already lost the scissors).

Dust under the bed. We both know it hasn’t been done since spring break.

If you’ve got ceiling fans running all summer, clean the blades unless you want your kids breathing in six months of Texas dust.

Related: How to thoroughly clean your bedroom.

4. Living Room: Homework Meets Netflix

Vacuum the couch thoroughly. Crumbs from last week’s popcorn binge don’t mix well with math homework.

Designate a quiet homework nook if space allows.

Wipe remotes, tabletops, and baseboards.

And if you’re hosting any back-to-school playdates or parent get-togethers, this is the zone that needs to shine.

Related: How to deep clean your living room.

5. Bathroom: Pre-Bus Stop Panic Zone

Scrub sinks, toilets, and mirrors.

Toss old bath toys and empty bottles.

Restock essentials: toothpaste, extra toothbrushes, hand soap.

If you’ve got multiple kids sharing a bathroom, label storage bins. No more “He used my hair gel!” moments at 7:12 AM.

Related: How to clean your bathroom.

6. Laundry Room: Make It Work for You

Clear out the dryer lint trap and vacuum around appliances.

Organize detergent, stain remover, and all the socks with no partners.

Create a bin for clean uniforms or school clothes. Saves time—and sanity—on weekday mornings.

Final Touch: Call Dallas Maids (You Saw This Coming)

Look, if reading this already makes you want to take a nap, we get it. Deep cleaning in August heat? No thanks. That’s where we come in.

Dallas Maids can knock out the grime and give your home the back-to-school reset it needs while you focus on, well… everything else.

Let’s make this school year a clean start.
Call us, and we’ll handle the dirt.
Your sanity will thank you.

Summer in Dallas means three things: heat, mosquitos, and houseguests. Whether it’s your in-laws rolling in from Austin or your college friend “just swinging by” for three nights, there’s nothing like unexpected (or even expected) guests to make you realize your home is not ready for company.

But don’t panic. This isn’t a panic-cleaning post. This is your friendly guide from Dallas Maids on how to get guest-ready without breaking a sweat (because, let’s be honest, the Dallas humidity already has that covered).

1. Focus on the “Company Zones”

Nobody cares if your garage looks like a Home Depot exploded. Focus on the areas guests will actually see:

Entryway

Living room

Guest bathroom

Kitchen

Guest bedroom (if you’re fancy like that)

Pro tip: If you’re short on time, toss the clutter into a laundry basket and hide it in a closet. It’s not cleaning, but it’s efficient. And for the ultimate 10-minute clean click here.

2. The Bathroom Test

Want to know if your house is guest-ready? Go sit on your toilet. Seriously. You’ll suddenly notice the toothpaste spots on the mirror, the dust behind the trash can, and the mystery streak on the light switch.

A quick bathroom refresh checklist:

Clean the toilet bowl (inside AND out—we see you)

Wipe the sink, faucet, and mirror

Put out fresh towels (not the ones with holes from 2009)

Stock toilet paper (please, don’t make them ask)

What to complete down low on how to up and clean your bathroom? We wrote a comprehensive article aptly named, How to Clean Your Bathroom.

3. Smells Matter, Y’all

Dallas heat + a closed-up house = not great things for your nose. Open the windows for a bit, light a candle, or bake something that smells like you know what you’re doing. If all else fails, Febreze it and move on. Otherwise, click here if your home needs some serious odor intervention.

4. Plan the Escape Route

No, not for your guests… for you! Make a little time for yourself after the chaos. You did the work, you deserve a nap. Or a taco. This is Dallas, after all.

5. Let Us Help (Seriously)

If the thought of prepping for guests is already making you sweat more than the Texas sun, we’ve got you. At Dallas Maids, we specialize in stress-free, professional house cleaning that makes you look like you’ve got it all together, even if you were just googling “how to fold a fitted sheet” 10 minutes ago.

Whether it’s a one-time deep clean or help getting ready for a family invasion, we’re here to make your life easier and your home shine. Book online, give us a ring, or send us a quick message, we maid house cleaning easy!

Final thought:
Guests might forget what you served for dinner, but they’ll always remember if your bathroom smelled weird. Clean accordingly.

How to Clean Up After Pets

Pets are more than just furry companions, they’re part of the family. They bring joy, cuddles, and the occasional disaster. As much as we love our pets, cleaning up after them can be a whole different story. Whether it’s pet hair that seems to multiply like a small army of furry bunnies, stains on the carpet that no amount of scrubbing will seem to remove, or the allergen-filled “gifts” they leave behind, keeping your home clean and smelling fresh can feel like a full-time job. But don’t worry! We’ve got your back with this comprehensive guide on how to clean up after pets. Get ready to tackle the mess and enjoy a pet-friendly home without the headache.

1. Pet Hair: The Uninvited Guest That Won’t Leave

Pet hair. Gawd. It’s like glitter; it gets everywhere. No matter how much you brush your pet, that hair just keeps coming. If you’re struggling with pet hair on your furniture, carpets, or even in your clothes (because apparently your pet’s shedding knows no boundaries), don’t despair.

One simple solution is to use a lint roller or pet hair remover brush, but if you want to take it to the next level, consider using a vacuum with a pet hair attachment, which can do wonders on carpets and upholstery. According to our article on removing pet hair, vacuuming regularly can help manage the build-up. It’s especially important for homes with furry friends that shed frequently. Remember, the more often you clean, the less effort required when the shedding gets out of hand.

2. Spot Cleaning and Removing Pet Stains from Your Carpet

Accidents happen. Whether it’s a young puppy still learning the ropes or an adult cat who’s suddenly decided the carpet is their new bathroom after you’ve away on vacation for a week, pet stains are a fact of life. But fear not! There are effective ways to clean up the mess and restore your carpet’s beauty.

First, grab a clean cloth and blot up the stain, don’t rub, as that can push the stain deeper into the fibers. Then, use a pet stain remover or a DIY solution made from white vinegar, water, and a small amount of baking soda. According to our guide on spot cleaning and removing pet stains, this concoction can work wonders on removing both the stain and the odor.

If the stain is particularly stubborn, consider a more advanced treatment like a deep cleaning solution or even calling in professional help. After all, your carpet deserves a little TLC, too.

For more tips on handling pet stains, check out our article on removing pet stains from carpets.

3. Dealing with the Dreaded Pet Odors

Pets are great, but let’s be real, sometimes they don’t exactly smell like roses. Whether it’s from their fur, a wet dog, or that delightful pet accident, odors can quickly take over your home.

To manage pet odors, start with regular cleaning and use odor-neutralizing products. Air purifiers, baking soda, and even essential oils can all work wonders in eliminating those stinky smells. You might also want to make sure you’re vacuuming regularly (you know, to deal with that other mess, the hair). But don’t just take our word for it, check out our article on reducing allergens for even more tips on keeping your home fresh and allergen-free.

A quick tip: Keep your pets clean too! Bathing them regularly (depending on their breed) and brushing out their fur can help reduce the odors that come from their coat.

4. Pet Allergies: Keep the Sneezing at Bay

If you or anyone in your household has pet allergies, the battle to maintain a clean home takes on an added level of complexity. Pet dander (those tiny flakes of skin that your pet sheds) is one of the biggest culprits. But don’t worry, there are ways to reduce the impact.

The key is regular cleaning, especially vacuuming with a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner that can trap those tiny particles. Wash your pet’s bedding frequently, and invest in an air purifier to help keep the air clean. As mentioned in our article on reducing allergens, it’s essential to create a barrier between your pet and the rest of your home’s air supply to minimize the risk of flare-ups.

Even though it might seem like an uphill battle, these little changes can make a world of difference for allergy sufferers.

5. The Ultimate Pet Cleaning Checklist

To help you stay on top of your cleaning game, we’ve compiled an ultimate checklist for cleaning up after your pet:

Vacuum: Target pet hair, dust, and allergens.

Wipe down surfaces: Pets often like to jump on furniture, leaving behind hair and dirt.

Wash pet bedding: Fleas and odors love to hide in your pet’s favorite spots.

Tackle pet stains immediately: The longer you wait, the more difficult they become to clean.

Deodorize: Use odor-neutralizing sprays and essential oils to keep things smelling fresh.

With this checklist, your home will stay fresh, clean, and pet-friendly, no matter how much your furry friend sheds.

6. Bonus: Professional Help When You Need It

Sometimes, no matter how much you clean, the mess just doesn’t go away. If you’re struggling with persistent stains, odors, or allergens, it might be time to call in the experts. Professional cleaning services, like Dallas Maids, can help with deep cleaning that tackles even the toughest pet messes. Whether it’s pet hair removal or odor elimination, a professional team has the tools and expertise to restore your home to its former glory.

In Conclusion: Pet Cleaning Doesn’t Have to Be a Chore

Cleaning up after pets doesn’t have to be a never-ending battle. By following these tips and using the right products, you can keep your home looking and smelling great, without sacrificing the joy your pet brings into your life. Whether it’s tackling pet hair, stains, odors, or allergens, the key is consistency and the right tools. And remember, if it all gets too overwhelming, there’s always professional help around the corner.

Now, go ahead, snuggle up with your fur baby without worrying about the mess. Your home will be spotless, and your pet will still love you (even if they do leave a trail of fur everywhere).

Hello and welcome to Dallas Maids! Today we’re reviewing our favorite Method eco-cleaning products.

Over 20 years we’ve tested and tried so many cleaning products, and currently we’re in love with the Method eco house cleaning and personal care products.

Before we continue, don’t forget to check Dallas Maids’ cleaning service. We have a house cleaning and maid service in Dallas, with more than 2 decades of happy customers.

If you need extra help with cleaning and tidying up or want to deep clean your home for Thanksgiving, today is the perfect opportunity!

Even if you are cleaning your house on your own, we still love sharing our tips & tricks with our customers, and that includes our top-notch cleaning products.

The Method brand has been in the business since 2000 and delivers a huge variety of house cleaning and body care products. Today we’re sharing the best ones we’ve tried, how we use it, and some insider tips.

Why We Love the Method Eco Cleaning Products

As cleaning experts, we know the products we use have an impact on our performance and the cleaning experience for our staff and our customers.

We are always on the hunt for products with a good balance of performance, safety, versatility, and eco-friendly ingredients.

The Method cleaning products are plant-based, cruelty-free, affordable and, last but not least, they work!

And we love how nice and diverse they’re fragrances are. Both our cleaning experts and our customers agree that they don’t smell like chemicals, and they are not too overwhelming.

When we discovered the Method cleaning products, we were impressed with their catalog. They have multi-purpose options if you want a simple, straightforward approach, and then you have more specialized alternatives to work on specific areas or surfaces, like your shower walls or your hardwood floors.

We’ve gathered our top picks that we can’t live without:

The Method All-Purpose Cleaner Refill

As a house cleaning service, we use a lot of all-purpose cleaner. This plant-based all-purpose cleaner is perfect to clean most surfaces in your home.

Dallas Maids uses this all-purpose cleaner on all major countertops and non-stainless steal appliances. It cuts through grime and grease, which means we get to work better and faster.

Because it’s versatile and works on different surfaces, we just need to fill one of our spray bottles and we’re ready to go!

The 2l refill is worth every penny and lasts for long. As we always say, don’t overdo your cleaning! Using the recommended amount of product (or even less than that) is usually more than enough to clean and sanitize your home.

We love the pink grapefruit fragrance which is strong but not overpowering. You can also choose the lavender one.

Related: 7 Things Your Housekeeper Wont Tell You

Shower Cleaner

If you live in areas with hard water, like Dallas, you will notice there’s limescale building up every time you take a shower or wash your hands.

Most brands of soap or shower gel leave soap scum on your shower glass and walls as well.

This daily shower cleaner refill is formulated to quickly remove soap scum and limescale residues on your surfaces and also on your water fixtures.

Even though it’s formulated as a daily shower spray, you can also use it once a week as long as your shower is in good condition.

It doesn’t have harsh chemicals and you can even leave it on the surface without having to rinse.

Once again, this is a refill and it’s 2 liters which go a long way.

Related: 5 Tips to Make Tiles and Grout Look Brand New

Method Daily Wood Cleaner

Wooden surfaces are particularly delicate and one of the few areas where we recommend specialized cleaning products. Wood is sensitive to abrasive cleaning products, excessive water, and changes in temperature and humidity.

This wood furniture cleaning spray cleans and also polishes at the same time, which is fantastic if you want to skip that extra step.

A little goes a long way which is a green flag in our books. This means that a) your product lasts for longer, therefore you won’t have to replace it every two weeks and b) You won’t need to use water for rinsing, which damages wooden surfaces in the long run.

We love the almond scent which is nice and sweet.

Our Favorite Antibacterial All-Purpose Cleaner

Now we have the antibacterial all-purpose cleaner, which is similar to the all-purpose cleaner but with extra disinfecting power.

This disinfectant spray comes in especially handy in case you are moving in or are moving out of your home. You never know how well (or poorly) sanitized was the home you’re moving into, and it’s common courtesy to deep clean your home properly before leaving.

Keep in mind the disinfectant is a bit pricier than regular all-purpose cleaner. At Dallas Maids, we leave disinfectant for areas where you are going to prepare and enjoy food, or in areas where there is a risk of mold and mildew.

Tub Tile Cleaner

This Method Foaming Tub & Tile Cleaner is fantastic to get the wall and floor tiles (and grout) squeaky clean.

Soap scum usually attaches to the surface of your tub tile and this is not nice to look at and it can be dangerous if you let it sit for too long.

Because it’s a foaming cleaner, it covers more area with less product, and it also sticks to walls and even ceilings! It also sticks in contact with the grime and soap scum for longer.

We’ve used this product at Dallas Maids many times and found it’s fantastic to treat small mold or mildew stains.

The scent is not overpowering and it won’t trigger asthma in our customers or our staff.

Bathroom Cleaner

This bathroom cleaner by Method is fantastic if you want an effective, well-rounded cleaner for your bathroom.

We love the shower and tub tile cleaners, but this one covers all the other areas in your bathroom like countertops, sinks, and toilets. If you want to reduce the number of cleaning products, you can pick this one to work all areas of your bathroom.

Our pro tip: let cleaning agents act on the surface for 15 – 30 minutes, especially on your toilet rim. The mix of eucalyptus and mint is fantastic!

Conclusion

That’s it! Our favorite Method cleaning products! We believe in giving credit where credit’s due, and sharing our favorite companies in the cleaning industry.

Hello and welcome back to Dallas Maids! Like every year, we’re bringing you our updated Spring Cleaning guide for 2024.

Spring is just around the corner! This is such an exciting time of the year, especially in Dallas, TX. After a harsh winter, Spring always brings hot, sunny days to go out and enjoy Dallas.

Before we continue, don’t forget to check Dallas Maids! We offer professional cleaning services in Dallas, Frisco, Irving and other areas in DFW.

This time of the year is perfect to enjoy some quality time with our families. You have the Dallas Botanical Garden, the Klyde Warren Park or the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, among many other beautiful places.

That being said, if you want to tackle this on your own, let’s do it! Let’s make sure our home stays nice and clean for Spring.

Always Start Spring Cleaning With Decluttering

If you haven’t decluttered in a while, this is a great time.

First, completely empty your food storage area. Take a look at your items, and get rid of the expired stuff. Take of whatever’s expiring soon (in the next six months) and make sure to put it on the front to remember you need to use these items soon.

You can do the same for personal care items in your bathroom or makeup or makeup vanity.

In your living room, you might need to take down some décor and swap it with spring-themed items. This can go anywhere from frames and flower vases, to throw pillows and cushions.

You’re now transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring and you may have old clothes. You also have drawers filled with random items that you don’t really use that often. and even a storage room or a garage that needs some organizing.

Wipe down your shelves with just a tiny spritz of water, a drop of dish soap, and white vinegar.

Related: The Connection Between a Clean Home and Mental Health

Organize Your Storage Areas

First things first in our spring cleaning guide: organize your storage areas. Storage areas are filled with dust and grime over time, especially in your kitchen and your bathroom. Besides, clutter creates visual noise and makes your home feel messy and dirty, even if it’s not.

A bit of decluttering and organizing is always helpful, at least once a quarter. We’re getting close to the end of March so this makes it the perfect opportunity to organize your pantry, your cleaning closet, your bathroom vanity and your bedroom closet.

Pro tip: put identical boxes with labels saying what goes inside. This way, everyone in your family knows the right location for your items and it helps you keep consistency.

Depending on your preferred strategy, you might want to clean first and then organize your items.

After Organizing, It’s Spring Cleaning Time!

Now that you’ve decluttered and organized your items. Gather all your cleaning products and start with your cleaning!

Pro tip: make sure you make a list of tasks for deep cleaning for areas where you normally don’t clean. Baseboards, bookshelves, ceiling fans, door frames.

Make sure you have a cleaning caddy ready with your cleaning products and supplies: microfiber cloths, floor cleaning tools (a broom, a mop, a bucket, and a vacuum cleaner).

Once your surfaces are clear, give them a good wipe-down. In this case, you can use a commercial multi-purpose cleaner to make everything sparkle. Eco-friendly cleaners are safe for most surfaces and decently effective against low-to-mid grime and dirt buildup.

Remember to start from the top. Wipe your open shelves, bookshelves, and upper kitchen cabinets. Then, your countertops, your dining table, TV stand, desks, side tables, and your bed.

Remember to Deep Clean Your Floors

Vacuuming is important for carpet floors. Do this on a zig-zag: walk to the opposite corner of the door of whatever room you’re in. Then, move forward with your vacuum cleaner, and then move backwards, but this time slide yourself to the right (or left) until you move half the width of your vacuum cleaner. Then, move forward again and repeat the process until you reach the door.

This way, you will vacuum the entire area twice and your floors will be nice and clean. Make sure you get into the corners and under the furniture as well.

If you haven’t deep cleaned your carpet floors (for 18 months or longer) consider hiring a professional cleaning service or renting an industrial carpet cleaner.

If you have tile floors, fill a bucket with warm, soapy water and use a rough brush to scrub everything away. Always follow the direction of the tile. If possible, use a steam cleaner to clean the grout as well and disinfect the area.

The Final Touch: A Spritz of Fragrance

With every year, our house cleaning tips change and it’s just not about actual cleaning anymore. Cleaning is also about having a tidy, pleasant space. For this Spring cleaning, let’s incorporate a nice fragrance into our homes!

Let’s improve air quality first. Opening windows is the best way to improve air circulation, but nowadays temperature is still extremely cold in many cities, such as Dallas and the rest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

If you can’t open windows right now, you can invest in an air purifier or a dehumidifier. Moisture often creates an unpleasant odor, especially around small, closed spaces like bathrooms and laundry areas. If this is the case in your home, you can get a dehumidifier to help balance out the excessive moisture.

An air purifier, on the other hand, absorbs the microbes and microscopic lint in the air. With fewer bacteria floating around, the smell in your home will improve as well.

Add some fragrant plants and flowers to your home! Spring is starting soon so this is the perfect time. They have long-lasting smells.

You can get a wax melter which is safer than scented candles.

Another route is potpourris. These are cheap, simple and easy to make. You just add as many dried herbs and citrus peels as you can find (e.g. orange peels, cinnamon, cloves, dried lavender…) to a pot filled with water. As long as it’s simmering, it will fill your kitchen and living area with a fresh, beautiful fragrance. Just remember to add water regularly and keep an eye on your stove.

If you plan to invite guests soon, these tips will be a huge plus. If you want more tricks, we recently collaborated in an Expert Roundup with Porch on tips to remove odors in your house before hosting a party, so feel free to check their article!

Conclusion

That’s it! Our favorite tips for this 2024 Spring Cleaning guide. We know everything has been said already but there’s always room for improvement and some bonus tips to give you a new perspective.

Again, remember to check our cleaning service in Dallas. You may need a deep cleaning service to start Spring on the right foot. You can also ask for our standard cleaning service to keep your home nice and tidy once or twice a month.

No matter the case, we hope you enjoy Spring and spend quality time with your family.

Hello and welcome back to Dallas Maids! Let’s start the year off with smart tools and techniques for house cleaning in 2024.

We’re right in the middle of January! We hope you got to spend the past weeks enjoying the new year and by now, we’re all back to work.

We thought it was a good idea to start the year off with house cleaning tools and techniques to help you improve your cleaning skills!

As always, we invite you to check our cleaning service in Dallas. We have many different options to fit your cleaning needs. We can’t wait to help our customers this year!

But if you want to learn some house cleaning tricks in the meantime, say no more! Read Dallas Maids’ tools and techniques for 2024.

Simplify Your House Cleaning Process

Look for strategies that simplify your house cleaning process. Writing down and planning out what you need to clean is a good example.

Many people choose Sundays to figure out what they need to do during the week and write everything down in their planner.

If you want to be more organized, keep a list with 2 – 3 cleaning tasks that you need to accomplish each week, and then 3 more tasks that you need to complete once a month.

We have many different cleaning checklists to help you sort out some of these tasks.

Check our January Checklist from last year, or our extensive Spring Cleaning Checklist if you need a deeper, more extensive cleaning routine.

Get a Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

One of the tools you can incorporate into your cleaning caddy is a handheld vacuum cleaner. They are going to help you work on areas where a regular vacuum cleaner wouldn’t be ideal, such as:

a) Hard-to-reach areas such as cupboards and light fixtures;

b) Nooks and crannies inside your couch and armchairs;

c) Your car and your workspace, either at home or at your office!

A handheld vacuum cleaner has a small dirt container. The cheaper alternatives are simple, cordless vacuums. The more premium options are full-sized vacuum cleaners with floor heads that you can turn into a handheld vacuum.

Clean from Top to Bottom

This is a basic tip but most cleaning rookies don’t know this. Always clean from top to bottom!

When it’s time for some house cleaning, you don’t know where to start sometimes. This is a great rule of thumb.

By cleaning from top to bottom, all the dirt and crumbs will fall naturally to the next surface, and the next one until they reach the floor.

This means leaving your floors for last, of course.

Use Steam for House Cleaning

You have two options here: a steam cleaner or a steam mop. A steam cleaner comes with different attachments and nozzles to help you clean your kitchen splashback and faucets, and your upholstery.

Steam mops, on the other hand, are perfect to clean and sanitize hard floors without needing chemicals. If you have hardwood floors, this might be a fantastic tool.

You avoid using strong chemicals, you lift dirt and you kill bacteria, all using only water!

Pre-treat Areas With Water and Soap

Pre-treating areas is less common than you think! Many people apply their cleaning agents and just jump right into scrubbing and wiping.

However, most areas and items can be pre-treated with soapy water (or similar cleaning products) for 15 – 30 minutes. This goes from bathroom fixtures to pots and pans in your kitchen.

How can you speed up your cleaning process? Pre-treat the most challenging areas, and work on other areas while you wait.

You can pre-treat your toilet and your shower and in the meantime, scrub and wipe your sink and your mirror, for example.
