What a year it has been. Truly. Someone remarked to me recently that 2024 was just 2020 but without the pandemic. I know for us it felt like good and bad moments on steroids. Sometimes existing side-by-side. I think a lot of our customers have felt that this year. Moments of sheer joy. And moments of deep sadness. Often simultaneous.
And we’ve been through it all somehow, together.
I’ll never forget a story a friend told me once. He was just getting settled into a new area. Long time friends and family were in faraway places and he was starting over. He got involved in a local group. He started to make friends and feel at ease. Then, as life would have it, his world unraveled seemingly overnight. He mustered the courage to talk to one of his new friends. While he sobbed quietly his friend said something profound. “You got your butt handed to you. But we’ll get through it, together.” My friend said he had never felt so comforted. In a moment of isolation and hardship, he was reminded that he really wasn’t as alone as he felt.
Such a simple word we use with such deep meaning. Together.
Together we celebrated 20 years of business at Dallas Maids in 2024. Together we were welcomed into your homes on good days and bad to do our work. Together we shared stories with you. Together we laughed. Together we gossiped and spilled the tea from time to time (metaphorically of course). And together we supported each other on our bad days too. Whether it was with a hug or a conversation or just a job well done creating a clean home amidst all the chaos of life, we lived life together this year.
As we prepare to celebrate family, friends and the life we each lived in 2024 in the next few weeks, I wanted to pause for a moment and say how grateful I am that you have let us experience this year together. Whatever your plans over the last weeks of the year, I hope you’ll know and remember that we are grateful we spent this year together. Good and bad. Highs and lows.
As the year wraps up, I always like to treat our team with stories and compliments from our customers. This year, I thought it would be fun to supercharge that experience by crowdsourcing even more stories from each of you. Now through the end of Christmas week (12/30 to be exact), if you will send us a shout out, kudos, compliment, or encouraging word or story about one of our staff this year in an email, on our Facebook, or a card, we’ll send you a $25.00 gift card. Share in a video and allow us to upload to our YouTube channel, we’ll make it a $100.00 gift card! There’s no catch or gimmick here. We just want our team to remember that we’re all living this thing called life together and that while they may not see you each time they come to your home, you think about them, their work, and their lives too.
Wishing you joy, peace, and a sparkling home this holiday season – Happy Holidays!
